
The City of Elliot Lake offers various opportunities for residents of all ages to take part in skating activities and hockey during winter months (typically September to March). From Skills Development programs to Learn to Skate to Public Skating, there is something for everyone.

Registered Skating Programs
Public Skating
Skating opportunity where participants of all ages can enjoy a leisurely skate around the ice surface. No hockey sticks or outside skating aids are permitted. Skate patrol are on the ice to monitor the program and provide assistance as required.

Adult Shinny Hockey
Open ice for informal pickup hockey. Must be 18 years and older to play. No referee on ice. Teams and play organized by participants. Full equipment including a CSA approved helmet is required for all players.

Open ice for informal pickup hockey. Ages 8-12. No referee on ice. Teams and play organizaed by participants. Full equipment including a CSA approved helmet is required for all players.

CanSkate - Learn to Skate Program
CanSkate is Canada's only national learn-to-skate program. It was developed by experts to teach the fundamentals of skating in a progressive and sequential manner.

Figure Skating
The Elliot Lake Skating Club is a non-profit organization that provides several levels of skating lessons by Skate Canada qualified coaches.
